The Slap by Christos Tsiolkas
This was a Christmas Present from my friend, Geoff. I was so excited when I unwrapped it, as it is one I have eyed up in the library, but the copy we have is large print, and it makes for quite a hefty tome.
Unfortunately, I hated this book. I hated the writing style. I hated the way the that Tsiolkas couldn’t decided between first person and third, between past and present tense. I hated the characters. I hated the the sexist, racist and homophobic language. Mostly, I hated how desperate Tsiolkas is to shock me with his deviant behaviour.
